Hello, I’m Jana

I am a highly experienced 3 x certified Holistic Baby and Toddler Sleep Coach. I’ve been supporting families to improve their sleep for over 5 years now, and I’m also currently completing my fourth sleep qualification in Holistic Sleep Coaching because I just can’t get enough!

Oh my goodness – I get it! Sleep-deprived, bleary-eyed days and nights were my reality when our babies were little. It can honestly be torture.

That’s why I’m here!

For the first year of his life, Oscar woke every 1.5 – 3 hours. All night, every night (occasionally throwing in a longer stretch just to tease us! And often throwing in 30-45 min wakes overnight, too). Alongside the challenging nights, he was also a chronic catnapper; 20-40 minutes no matter what. I remember feeding, rocking, shushing, singing, pacing, crying — and researching. During the long nights I read what felt like hundreds of articles and books on baby sleep that left me totally confused and overwhelmed. ‘Evidence-based’ articles (don’t get me started!) contradicted each other, ‘mum blogs’ led me to feel judged over our choices, and everyone had different ideas about how to ‘fix’ our baby’s sleep. I felt like I tried everything and sleep still wasn’t improving; the lack of sleep and no clear answers caused me to doubt myself as a mum and made it so hard to tune in and trust my instincts.

My second-born Mabel also struggled with sleep initially. She had ‘colic’ and was diagnosed with reflux, and would scream and scream every hour overnight for months. By 4 months she was in ‘failure to thrive’ territory and I was at breaking point, navigating this alongside extreme sleep deprivation and an almost 2-year-old toddler at home, too. Eventually we discovered the root cause for not only her sleep challenges, but her overall health as well, and once this was resolved, by 6 months she was heading back up the growth curve and sleeping through the night with one feed. Discovering the underlying physiological issues here for her was the key.

This is why I LOVE what I can do as your sleep coach – I know how overwhelming it can be, and I can offer clarity, empathy, and kind, holistic strategies that work and actually do feel right! One of my biggest joys is helping parents feel calm and confident with their little ones’ sleep and giving them strategies that feel good and only strengthen their attachment, while achieving better sleep. I am also incredibly passionate about finding the root cause — digging deeper and discovering the barriers that are at play for each individual child’s sleep, and working holistically to remove them so that sleep can flow naturally.

I get to help sleep-deprived families get the quality sleep they need so that they don’t just survive this season, but can actually enjoy it too! Isn’t that the dream!?
